The history of World Health Day dates back to April 7th, 1950, when it was first marked to honor WHO’s founding. The creation of an independent global health organization was suggested in December 1945 by government representatives from China and Brazil. The World Health Organization’s mandate was ratified in July 1946, and on April 7th, 1948, 61 nations approved the creation of the NGO. The annual event seeks to increase public awareness of significant health problems and to inspire action to enhance overall health outcomes.Since its inception, World Health Day has addressed various health issues, such as mental health, maternal and child health, cancer, HIV/AIDS, and non-communicable diseases.
World Health Day offers a chance to reflect on the current state of global health and find methods to improve it.
